Safari Overview
Experience Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Beach Vacation via Northern Circuit in a new way-on foot…!
Unlike the Tanzania safari, the 12-day Tanzania Luxury Safari and Zanzibar offer luxury safari lodges inside the Tanzanian national Parks. They may also be on the outskirts, which provides world-class luxury. You will spend overnights in luxury hotels and Lodges. As you travel around northern Tanzania, 12 days will cover four famous safari parks.
But are you ready to see Tanzania up close and personal? The magic of a good safari cannot easily be put into words, but this experience becomes even more impressive when you step out of the vehicle and move through the bush on two feet. The wilderness takes on an entirely new dimension, and every sight and sound becomes an exquisite feast for the senses.
We have crafted the Trails of Luxury Tours Tanzania and Zanzibar Island itinerary to introduce you to the beautiful world of luxury safari. Finally, you will visit Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara National Park, as well as Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. There will be opportunities to leave the 4×4 behind at each stop along the way to the airport, ready to catch up.
Day 1: Arrival at the Airport-Kili Seasons Hotel
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, Arusha, your private driver-guide will pick you up and transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha Town. At the hotel, you will have dinner and stay overnight at Kili Seasons Hotel in Arusha.
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After enjoying an early morning breakfast, you will depart for Tarangire National Park, a fine Tanzania wildlife destination named after the Tarangire River that runs through the park. The river is the source of water attracting a huge population of wildlife, including elephants, which you will be able to see. Tarangire National Park is well known for its large herds of elephants often seen congregating by the river, along with giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, lions, leopards, and various bird species.
You will arrive in the park in time for lunch, which you will have after checking in. Then, you’ll go for an afternoon game drive, exploring the savannah plains of the park and seeing various animals. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Gibb’s Farm.
Day 3: to Lake Manyara National Park
After an early morning breakfast, you will depart for Lake Manyara National Park, an unspoiled Tanzania wildlife destination known for its abundance of birds and tree-climbing lions. The park comprises the dramatic western escarpment of the Rift Valley, which forms the western border of the park, and Lake Manyara to the east. Lake Manyara National Park features a shallow-alkaline lake covering a large area of the park; this lake dries in the dry season and floods in the wet season, becoming home to thousands of flamingoes during the rainy season.
The park is dominated by diverse vegetation, ranging from savannah to evergreen forest, hosting a variety of wildlife including tree-climbing lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, cape buffaloes, and elephants, among others. You will arrive in the park in time for lunch, which you will have after checking into your lodge. After lunch, you will go for an extensive game drive, exploring the park and enjoying the opportunity to see many animals.
Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Gibb’s Farm.
Day 4:Karatu to Serengeti
After breakfast, we continue by road from our Lodge to the Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge. We stopped to visit the Olduvai Museum and Gorge, an archaeological site where fossils of our earliest human ancestors and their tools have been unearthed. We can also see a Maasai village to encounter Tanzania’s best-known ethnic group, the semi-nomadic Maasai. Then, we enjoy an en-route game drive to our luxury tented camp in the world-renowned Serengeti National Park.
Spend time at wildlife games and view the beautiful Serengeti. The largest national park in Tanzania, Serengeti, covers about 14 760 km² of open plains and wilderness. This unique wildlife reserve hosts an awe-inspiring abundance of large mammals, including masses of herbivores such as wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, topi, buffalo, and hartebeest. The Serengeti Park is famous for predator populations and giant cats – lions, cheetahs, and leopards overnight at Four Season Safari Lodge Serengeti lunch at the Lodge or a picnic lunch will be served.
Day 5 Serengeti National Park
Have an early morning breakfast before departing for Serengeti National Park, one of the most famous wildlife destinations in the world and the oldest ecosystem on Earth. Serengeti National Park is truly spectacular and is the oldest national park in Tanzania, boasting abundant wildlife; however, it is best known for its annual Great Migration. Huge numbers of wildebeests, accompanied by large numbers of zebras and antelopes, move in an annual pattern seeking fresh grasslands and water.
The timing of the migration is entirely dependent on the rainfall patterns each year. When you arrive in the park, you will check into your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for an extensive game drive.
You will spend the next two days exploring Serengeti National Park and enjoying the sights of the endless plains and animals such as cheetahs, giraffes, lions, zebras, wildebeests, elephants, hippos, hyenas, leopards, wild dogs, and buffaloes, among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Four Season Safari Lodge Serengeti.
Day 6: Serengeti National Park- Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you will head out for an en-route game drive through the Serengeti. You might be able to spot the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard – before embarking on your journey to Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage site, formed millions of years ago, is 600 m deep and covers roughly 260 square kilometers.
Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25,000, the Crater offers the best game viewing of all the parks in Tanzania. You will arrive at the Crater rim before lunch. You will then descend into the Crater, and very quickly, you will be able to see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area.
With a little bit of luck, you might catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino through the grass.
In the evening you overnight at Ngorongoro Lions Paw.
Optional Activity,
In the afternoon you can do the Crater hikes, Maasai village cultural tour, or archaeological site visit at the Olduvai Gorge.
Day 7 Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
We will depart for the Ngorongoro Crater early in the morning as it is a wonderful time to spot the game from Serengeti. We will go on a game drive with a picnic lunch inside the crater. The majority of the animals tend to reside within the crater due to its elevated structure. There is a high possibility of spotting every member of ‘The Big 5’.
The Crater was formed millions of years ago when a large volcano erupted. You can expect to encounter zebra, hippo, wildebeest, and cackling hyenas. There are graceful flamingos along the Soda Lake and vultures are constantly circling the sky in search of discarded carcasses. Storks and geese are popular water birds in the crater.
Your trip will come to an end and you will be transferred to the Kili Seasons Hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight .
Day 8-11 Arusha to Zanzibar Island
On day eights of the Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Beach Trip, we depart from Arusha Airport after breakfast.
Upon arrival at Zanzibar International Airport, you will be met by our guide and transferred to the beach resort on the east coast of Zanzibar and Overnights at Tui Blue Hotel.
East Coast of Zanzibar Island:
The next few days are spent relaxing on the white sand beaches, swimming in the warm Indian Ocean, and enjoying your luxury Zanzibar beach resort at leisure via your 12-day Tanzania Luxury Safari and Zanzibar program.
The islands of the Zanzibar Archipelago are famous for their idyllic tropical beaches and are known as the Spice Islands because of the exotic spices grown there. Visit the spice plantations to smell and taste the brightly colored and aromatic herbs, such as turmeric, ginger, black pepper, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
You can take a boat ride to one of the smaller islands to relax and explore or go scuba diving. Snorkeling and scuba diving are popular due to the rich marine life in these clear waters.
Day 12 Beach Resort to Zanzibar Airport
After breakfast on day 12, you can relax at the resort until you need to transfer to the airport. Once you have checked out of your room at 11:59 AM, you can store your luggage at the resort and continue enjoying the resort facilities.
When it is time for your airport transfer, our driver will collect you at reception and drive you to the Zanzibar International Airport.
